Primary Chain Rattle / Clatter on the 5.0 engines has become a worldwide problem. Multiple TSB's released by Ford instructing dealers to replace them. The bottom line is that in performance applications even replacement is not enough. If left unchecked this problem will result in inconsistent valve timing, chain failure, guide failure and noises.
MMR went to work testing in our dyno room to come up with a permanent solution. These new Limiters from MMR reduce negative travel of the piston internally to prevent these start-up and low rpm ticking and rattling noises.
The tensioner still works as originally intended (oil assisted) and offers quiet, reliable operation.
Includes QTY 6 shims to set travel (enough for 2 tensioners) - Please see our youtube video on how to set up.
