MMR's Differential bushing tool is perfect for replacing your differential bushings. Easy to use design installs new bushings without causing and damage to the bushing or subframe.
This is not a universal tool, this is specifically made for the S550 / S650 Mustang Diff Bushings
Works on all 2015-2025 Mustang Models including Shelby and Darkhorse.
Compatible with Aftermarket and factory style replacement differential bushings (such as MMR PN#777921)
Instructions:
Removal - MMR suggests using a hole saw to remove the center of the bushing first (2 1/8 size Morse Kraken MHSTK34 suggested) using WD40 to lubricate the saw as it cuts throught the rubber, once the center has been removed a hand held grinder with grinding bit will quickly grind through the remaining rubber and into the steel shell, you will simply grind in a straight line until you split the shell, at which point it will fall out or can be tapped out easily with a hammer. Expect to spend about 10 minutes per bushing for cutting/grinding/removal.
Installation - Using the MMR install tool, orient the bushing as decribed by the manufacturer. Lubricate the threads of the install tool with motor oil or grease. Place the cup side on the side of the crossmember where the differential mounts (you will be pulling the bushing into the crossmember and then into the cup slightly). The straight tool will go onto the bushing on the other side, make sure the tool only pushes on the outside edge of the bushing - NOT THE CENTER - you will notice a cutout on both parts of the tool, on the cup side the cutouts are to clear some of the welds on the crossmember, on the straight tool the cut out is so that it clears the center of the bushing so as not to push on the center or hub of the bushing. We suggest using WD-40 on the rubber bushing to help them slide in - do not use motor oil or grease as these lubricants may promote bushing movement after installation.
